Science Process Skills



·         Observing - using your 5 senses to find out about objects and their characteristics, properties, differences, similarities, and changes.

·         Measuring – quantify your observations using units of measure.

·         Classifying - grouping or ordering objects or events into categories according to similarities or differences in their properties.

·         Inferring - formulating assumptions or possible explanations based upon observations. Ask yourself, “does this make sense because of what I already know?”

·         Predicting - guessing what will happen based on your observations, inferences, and prior knowledge.

·         Communicating - using words, symbols, or graphics to communicate your ideas to others.
